About Google Scholar

Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources

Advantages

Limitations

Multidisciplinary, search "everything" at once

Links to institutions full-text (once initial setup is complete)

Great to view how many times a paper is cited

No controlled vocabulary

Less search options available to help you refine results:

Can end up with too many results
